Open Road was formed by Aaron Giedra and Alana Thew in February 2002. Aaron began playing guitar in 1993 and later taught Alana (now the group’s bassist)
to play guitar as well.
They traveled together from state to state across the west coast in the mid 90’s, always
playing music at home, and sometimes in front of a small audience, all the while never realizing that the music they shared would evolve into a full-time job.
The two moved to Washington State in 2000 and decided to form the group after being asked to perform at several local events. They played clubs and special events all across the state and traveled as far as Las Vegas for engagements.
They relocated to Las Vegas in 2005 and still continue to travel to Washington
and elsewhere for performances.
Open Road takes great pride in putting on a 1st class performance with top quality sound and
a stage presence that commands attention.
Their attention to detail, when it comes to on-stage sound is limitless. For Open Road, it’s always about reaching the audience with perfect, clear sound and powerful energy on-stage.
Their musical influences range from Elvis Presley to Jimi Hendrix and include artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Animals, Hound Dog Taylor, Elmore James, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others.
If you love music, if you’ve ever wondered, “What happened to all the great live music?”
